Some yards need a reset. Others need a routine. Many need both: a one-time cleanup to catch up, then a recurring schedule to stay caught up. Heather’s Poop Scoop Service offers four options: one-time cleanup, every-other-week, weekly, and twice-weekly service. This pointer compares them side by side with our actual prices, so you can choose what fits your dogs, your yard, and your calendar.
The Options at a Glance
Pricing is per 1/8 acre. Every service includes a free yard deodorizer.
- Twice a week: $15 per service
- Once a week: $20 per service
- Every other week: $30 per service
- One time: $80 per service
Every cleaning includes cleanup of the first two bags, with $5 for each additional bag. Recurring service has no contract, you can cancel anytime, and there’s no extra charge for additional dogs. If your yard is larger than about 1/8 acre, mention it when you request service. The pricing page always shows current rates.
Notice the pattern: the more often we visit, the lower the price per visit. Frequent visits also leave less time for waste to build up in between.
One-Time Cleanup
A one-time cleanup is a single visit. It’s the right tool when you need the yard clean now and aren’t ready for, or don’t need, a schedule.
When a one-time cleanup makes sense
- Getting caught up. The yard got away from you after a busy season, an illness, a new baby, or bad weather.
- Before an event. A birthday party, cookout, or visiting family.
- Before or after travel. Coming home to a clean yard, or leaving one for a house sitter.
- Seasonal resets. A spring cleanup after winter, or a fall cleanup before the holidays. See seasonal pet waste cleanup.
- Moving. Listing a home, closing on one, or handing the keys back to a landlord.
- Trying the service before choosing a schedule.
Getting caught up before recurring service
If the yard has had weeks of buildup, starting recurring service without a reset means the first few visits are really catch-up visits. A one-time cleanup first clears the backlog, so a recurring schedule can simply maintain the yard from then on. Because bags beyond the first two are $5 each, a yard with heavy buildup may take more bags on that first visit than it will once it’s on a schedule.
Every-Other-Week Service
$30 per service, per 1/8 acre. A visit every two weeks.
This option can fit:
- a single dog, especially a small one or one that’s mostly indoors;
- a yard that isn’t used much for play or entertaining; and
- owners who do occasional quick pickups themselves and want a thorough cleanup twice a month.
Keep in mind that two weeks is a long time in the yard. Health agencies like the CDC recommend picking up dog waste promptly, and H-GAC recommends picking up especially before rain. If you choose every other week, a quick pickup of your own between visits, particularly before storms or gatherings, keeps things from building up. See how often you should pick up dog poop.
Weekly Service
$20 per service, per 1/8 acre. A visit every week.
Weekly service is a common middle ground, and it can fit:
- one or two dogs with regular yard access;
- families who use the yard for play and want it reliably clean;
- busy households that want to stop thinking about scooping; and
- anyone who finds every-other-week leaves the yard looking rough by the second week.
Twice-Weekly Service
$15 per service, per 1/8 acre. Two visits every week.
Twice-weekly service keeps waste from ever building up much, and it’s the lowest price per visit. It can fit:
- multi-dog households, where waste builds up fastest. See how to keep a multi-dog yard clean;
- smaller yards where dogs return to the same few spots;
- puppies and dogs with all-day yard access;
- homes with young children who play outside often; and
- hot, rainy stretches when odor and runoff are a bigger concern.
Situations That Point One Way or Another
Multi-dog households
Because we don’t charge extra for additional dogs, the main question with several dogs is how fast waste builds up. Weekly or twice-weekly service generally keeps up better than every other week.
Frequent travel
If you travel often, recurring service means the yard stays clean whether you’re home or not. It also means a house sitter or kennel pickup day doesn’t turn into yard duty for someone else. If you travel only occasionally, a one-time cleanup timed around the trip may be all you need.
Busy schedules
When the work week is packed, yard cleanup is the first chore to slide. A recurring schedule takes the decision off your plate. With no contract, you can cancel anytime if your situation changes.
Seasonal needs
Some households want more help during certain times of year, like summer heat, rainy stretches, or the holidays. Talk with us about what you have in mind when you request service.
How to Decide
- Is the yard clean right now? If not, consider starting with a one-time cleanup.
- How many dogs use the yard, and how often? More dogs and more yard time point toward weekly or twice-weekly.
- How is the yard used? Kids, entertaining, and gardening point toward more frequent service.
- How much do you want to do yourself? If the answer is “nothing,” choose a frequency that keeps up without your help.
- Still unsure? Tell us what you’re seeing when you request service. We’ll follow up to talk it through. Submitting a request doesn’t book a visit automatically.
A Note for HOAs, Apartments, and Dog Parks
The prices above are for residential yards only. Commercial properties get a customized quote, and service begins after a quote and service agreement. See commercial services or pet waste management for HOAs and apartment communities.
The Bottom Line
A one-time cleanup resets the yard. Recurring service keeps it that way. The more dogs you have and the more you use the yard, the more frequent the schedule that makes sense, and the lower the price per visit. There’s no contract, so you can always adjust.
